How to become a ticketer

Ticketing is all about using tickets to document what it is that you do to take care of yourself. The idea is that ticketing can help you to focus on taking care of yourself - so you that you get better at it. You can read more about this in the page about the benefits of ticketing. There are some simple steps to ticketing:
You don't have to use an image, you can just write about what you did - but if you have a look at the tickets shared on the website you might agree that an image adds something to the words. .... it helps to tell the story in a way that words can't. You can use the blank or printed side of the ticket - I use the printed side because it often tells another part of the story. If you are have any questions, email Captain Polly on the link above.
- Think about a time recently when you did something to take care of yourself
- Grab a ticket (train ticket, bus, concert, parking ANYTHING)
- Decorate the ticket (draw, paint, collage ANYTHING) to show what you did to take care of yourself
- Write a few words about what you did
- Email or post a copy to us.

Sharing your tickets
Sharing your tickets can help others to learn from the things that you have done to take care of yourself. If you decide to share a ticket, make sure you keep a copy for yourself. If you have a smart phone or tablet you can take a scan of your ticket (using camscanner or similar app) and email us a copy.
Using gift packs

Gift packs are available to help you start ticketing. The gift packs include a book of 10 blank tickets. The image to the left is made on a blank ticket from a gift pack & looks quite different from the one at the top of the page which has been made using a shopping receipt. If you would like to give someone a gift pack, send us an email and we will post one to you. Alternatively, you can make a simple gift pack yourself by gathering a number of tickets together.
Don't forget to print off the gift pack instructions (see below). You might like to put the tickets in a gift box with a note about what the gift means to you ....... some of our favorites are:

- Because I love you so much I wanted to get you something really special for your birthday. I can't afford a Lamborghini so I got you this gift pack - to think about new ways to look after yourself.
- Thanks so much for looking after me. To help say thank you, this gift is an invitation to do 10 things to look after yourself - my way of giving something back.
- I wish we were both able to look after ourselves as well as we look after everyone else. So I got us both a gift pack. How long do you think it will take us both to do 10 things to look after ourselves?
- I cant be there with you - so I got this gift pack, to remind you to do 10 things to look after yourself. Remember each time you do something to look after yourself, that I love you very much.
Making your own gift pack![]() Collect a number of blank tickets. Then clip them together with a ribbon or bow. Picture to the left shows a parking ticket gift pack.

Using a starter card

You might be reading this because you've found a starter card. A starter card is a postcard describing the project, with a blank ticket attached to the back.
To use this, decorate the ticket to show something that you have done to take care of yourself and then write some words about what you did.
Please also think about sending us a copy for the website - so other people can learn from what you do.
